Q-Park are delighted to announce that they have been nominated for three CiTTi Awards. The winner will be revealed at a dazzling gala dinner on the 26th of November, where there will be more than 200 transportation industry professionals in attendance!
Organised by CiTTi Magazine, CiTTi Awards 2024 recognises and celebrates the hard work and innovation demonstrated by public-sector and private-sector organisations in enabling the clean, safe and efficient movement of people, goods and materials through urban environments in the UK. Q-Park have been nominated for the Smart Parking, the EV Charging Infrastructure and the Ticketing & Payments Awards. The Smart Parking category recognises intelligent approaches to the planning and management of parking, as well as advances in the systems used to manage parking. It looks for examples of ‘joined-up’ or lateral thinking that deliver solutions to on-street and off-street needs and examples of innovation – be it a piece of hardware, device or wider system – that makes the management of parking more efficient and/or customer-friendly. Q-Park were nominated for this award for their state-of-the-art PaSS automatic number plate recognition system which has allowed them to create a seamless customer journey by allowing both access to the car park and taking payment for parking simultaneously from both their own and third party businesses.
The success of the PaSS system has meant that it was also nominated for the Ticketing and Payments Award. This award celebrates groundbreaking innovations in ticketing and payment systems for urban mobility. Criteria include the ease of use, accessibility, integration across multiple transport modes, and the adoption of new technologies such as mobile apps, contactless payments, and smart cards. The award looks for entries that should demonstrate how these innovations enhance the user experience and contribute to the efficiency and sustainability of urban mobility systems.
Sustainable Urban Mobility is a core part of the Q-Park business, hence why they have been nominated for the EV Charging Infrastructure Award. This category recognises innovative strategies and comprehensive solutions in EV charging infrastructure development, not only in installation but also in the integration of smart technologies, user experience improvement, and sustainability in EV charging networks. Entries should highlight advancements in accessibility, scalability, and resilience of charging infrastructure, including the incorporation of renewable energy sources, battery storage solutions, and advanced network management systems to ensure reliability and efficiency. Over the last couple of years Q-Park have rolled out over 500 EV Charging Points in the UK. Their convenience in city centre locations coupled with the latest technology in EV Charging and contactless payment solutions has ensured that the new infrastructure is relentlessly popular with Q-Park customers.
Adam Bidder, Managing Director commented ‘We are absolutely thrilled to be nominated for three CiTTi Awards. This demonstrates our commitment to technological innovation and sustainable urban mobility across the cities we operate in. We look forward to the Awards in November.’
